B&B Terms and Conditions for Grianaig Guest House

Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions as agreed to at the time of booking.  

These conditions apply to all bookings made direct with Grianaig Guest House and also any booking partners (Booking.com, FREETOBOOK, Visit Outer Hebrides, Visit Scotland).

 

 

  • A contract between you and Grianaig Guest House will come into existence when we receive payment and/or accept your booking by issuing a confirmation of booking for the holiday dates.  The contract binds you & all the members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms & conditions of booking. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.

  • If you have booked through Booking.com or another provider then all payment terms and cancelations are stated on the listing.

  • Booking made direct through our provider FREETOBOOK will have T&C's listed on your booking process.

  • No under 18 years, No Animals, No Dogs. *If you have a pet/dog allergy we have animals on site but not within the guesthouse areas, they do share the outside areas.

  • Direct bookings are confirmed once the payment has been received.  A 25% non refundable deposit secures your booking, with the remainder due 21 days prior to arrival.

  • If the booking is cancelled less than 21 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
    If the booking is cancelled 21 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made.
    In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

  • We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.

  • The ferry and planes get booked up so ensure you book your travel to us as soon as you book your stay with us, it is your responsibility to get to us and there will be no refunds for missed travel.

  • We take no responsibility for guests that are unable to get to us due to ferry or flight issues, there will be no refunds if you cannot get to us due to any ferry or flight cancelations.

  • Your booking will not be cancelled by Grianaig Guest House except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control. Notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.

  • Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.

  • Grianaig Guest House reserves the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.

  • Grianaig Guest House or our representative reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance or for inspection purposes.

  • Check In is from 4pm - 8pm, please do not arrive before 4pm, if you are later due to ferry timings please let us know.

  • Check Out is by 10am Strict to allow us to complete changeover's, we cannot offer a late check out.

  • It is the guests responsibility to inform us at Grianaig Guest House of any allergies or intolerances or if they have dietary changes such as if they are vegetarian/vegan/diabetic etc.

  • The WIFI is switched off between midnight - 5am for quiet time to ensure all guests are not disturbed by loud voices/loud TV's.

  • There are no TV's in the King Rooms - please ensure you understand this and if TV is a must then book a Superking Room.

  • No Pets/Dogs.

  • No Fireworks or sparklers, or sparkler candles to be used or brought onto the property.

  • Smoking anywhere inside premises will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments. This must be strictly adhered to and any damage or extra cleaning caused by pets or smoking will be at the expense of you. A £300 fee will be charged should we find smoking inside.  You will be permitted to smoke outside and dispose of cigarettes in the sand bin provided outside to the side of the property and not leave stubbs on the floor.

  • Damage deposit – In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result.

  • Damage to property – Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. In the event that you notice damage in your accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can take the appropriate action. If there have been any breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could advise us before you leave. The rooms will be inspected on check out & you may be charged for any loss or damage found.

  • We ask all guests to shut the doors and close the windows when you leave your room unoccupied, this helps prevent midges and chickens coming in!!  During the peak Midge months this will be essential for you to enjoy your stay otherwise you will find your rooms full of midges!  

  • We will supply you with a bedroom door key, please leave in the door on Check Out.

  • The weather can change quickly here so this is another reason to ensure you shut windows/doors before leaving.

  • Grianaig Guest House reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the guest leaves the room(s) in an unacceptable condition.

  • Please note that in the event that any keys issued are not returned at the end of your stay or lost, then the cost of replacement will be charged to you at £50 per key.

  • The internet connection is available (at no extra cost) subject to technical availability, the weather may also cause the internet to run slow due to living on the island.

  • Grianaig Guest House shall not be liable for any temporary defect or malfunction of any equipment, machinery or appliance in the building or grounds.

  • All inventory must remain in the property it was in at arrival and not be taken away.

  • No WHITE Towels to be taken to the beach, please ask as we can lend you some beach towels.

  • We appreciate accidents happens and if you spill something badly we would like to informed so we can provide the correct clean up method.  We always have stronger cleaning chemicals if needed but we do not leave these out, so its best to ask.

  • No sandy towels or wetsuits etc to be brought into the property, we provide a wash area and a place to hang wetsuits.

  • We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others or owners of the property.

  • Any problem or complaint which the client may have concerning their holiday must be immediately reported directly to us/our representatives and we will endeavour to put matters right. Any complaints not reported to us/the property manager at the time and only reported after the client has returned from holiday will not be considered by Grianaig Guest House.

  • We take no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft to your personal possessions whilst staying with us, it is your responsibility to lock your room when leaving the property.  

  • We take no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft to vehicles and private possessions left in or around vehicles at the property.

  • We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.

  • There are two decorate stags at the front of the property, please do not climb or sit on these, they are coated in oil and will mark clothing.

  • This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own house.

  • ELECTRIC BIKE BATTERIES - No batteries to be charged inside the property due to the safety of all guests and insurance regulation, please inform us upon arrival and we will happily charge them on your behalf for a small fee.
