We use the 'local' produce as much as we can, and can recommend plenty of places to try.  We always provide our guests eggs from our own free range hens which free roam the gardens!

opportunities on the island; otter, dolphin, whales, eagles, deer, stag just to name a few.  Visit us during April and May and the lambs will be bouncing around too!

The skies of the Outer Hebrides are incredible, on a clear night from the garden you might get the chance to see the Milky Way, the Noctilucent Clouds and The Northern Lights!! 

We can offer you star spotting and Northern light information if that's of interest too!

Welcome to our newly renovated guest house.  Grianaig Guest House has been thoroughly refurbished over 2020 to welcome you to the island of South Uist on the Outer Hebrides.

A large open kitchen entertainment area, dining area, log fire, corner sofa, smart tv with Netflix, 4 spacious large en-suite rooms which can accommodate up to 8 people, laundry/utility room, garden and parking.

This unique property is ideal for groups of 2 or more people staying together.  A maximum of 8 guests can be catered for making this the perfect retreat for small groups, larger families or private events.  

Prices vary depending on the number of guests staying and length of stay you require.  All our reservations are through Airbnb, the calendar is updated daily so we recommend you click the book now button below and submit dates to Airbnb for an exact costing.

 

There is a minimum stay of 2 nights making it perfect for Island hoping.

Each room offers a great view, the two Super-king rooms to the front of the property have mountain views and the two King rooms face the machair and the sea to the rear.  The parking is plentiful at the front of the property with your own private entrance leading into a large hallway, open plan kitchen, living and dining space with log fire.

All rooms are newly renovated with plenty of hanging space, wardrobes, arm chair and an en-suite shower room in each of the four spacious bedrooms.  

All linen, towels and toiletries provided. A laundry area will be available for use consisting of washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board as well as drying space and utility sink.

Seating area and garden space out the front of the property has views to the mountains.

​Wifi is available throughout the whole property, however we are on an island and the download speed can be limited by the weather!

Well behaved Dogs are welcome on request.

Children are very welcome, we do have large hotel style beds which are higher than normal and no cots or additional children facilities so we recommend you contact us first if you would like to stay with very young children and babies.

Originally designed to open as B&B last year but due to the pandemic we adjusted our beautiful property to welcome guests on Self Catering and enjoy the property within their own group or family.  Its a fabulous space suitable for groups of 2-8 and its your own space.  Although we do live on site we do not share your space, we only share the garden areas.  You may find within the property a few things 'quirky' that have been designed for B&B such as the wonderful kitchen which has 3 dishwashers in it!

**We live on site at the property but have our own private residence allowing us to give our guests the space they need. We do have chickens which free roam and 2 labradors which love meeting new friends.  We do ask if you are bringing a dog that they be friendly towards other dogs and that they do not chase the chickens.  We ask that no-one chases the chickens as they do not lay if they get stressed.  We like to be upfront with our guests and to also let you know we share the garden areas and will need to access them for garden maintenance, therefore there may be some noise.  We do not share your guest area inside at all but the properties are joined by connecting walls and there may be some noise.  We give you plenty of privacy but we are based on site, if you are looking for a self catering property with no owners on site then unfortunately this property is not it. There is a no smoking, no parties or no fireworks policy on the property.
